Koichi Masuda is the founder and CEO of Liberty Fusion, a New Mexico–based startup advancing Plasma-Jet Magneto-Inertial Fusion (PJMIF) toward cost-competitive power. He studied nuclear engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and international energy security at George Washington University, bridging deep technical insight with strategic policy expertise. Masuda built commercial track records at SunEdison, Podium, and Google before scaling revenue and R&D as Chief Revenue Officer at laser-fusion firm EX-Fusion. Backed by ARPA-E collaborators and Los Alamos data from the Plasma Liner Experiment, he now leads Liberty Fusion’s push to expand the physics and deliver factory-built fusion plants.
