Nick Vega has spent nearly five years with Sumitomo Corporation as a Director on the Investments & Strategy team, which is responsible for new business development across multiple industries in the U.S. via project partnerships, JVs, investments, acquisitions, and other types of business / financing arrangements. In conjunction with Sumitomo’s Energy Innovation Initiative and other cross-functional teams, Nick helped in developing the company’s long-term nuclear fusion business strategy, leading to several notable partnerships in the space with companies like TAE Technologies and SHINE Technologies. As part of this strategy, Sumitomo is continually seeking new collaboration opportunities with companies across the industry to support development of the fusion ecosystem as a way to help solve the world’s energy challenges.

Prior to Sumitomo, Nick spent 8 years in private equity, investing in numerous founder-/family-owned middle-market companies across a wide variety of industries, as well as a number of years in investment banking at the beginning of his career. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Maryland.
