Justin Ashton is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Redwoods Climate Capital, where he invests in climate and deep technology companies. His fusion investments include Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Pacific Fusion, Type One Energy, and Xcimer Energy.

Before founding Redwoods, Justin led product and business development at Modern Hydrogen and co-founded XL Fleet, a leader in commercial vehicle electrification that went public in 2020. He previously served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Justin earned an MBA from MIT and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UC San Diego. He is based in Menlo Park, CA.
