Dr. Dennis Tan Cheng Cheh is Group Leader for Advanced Alloys and Principal Scientist at FEAT (Future Energy Acceleration & Translation), A*STAR, specializing in structural materials, advanced metal alloys, and mechanical testing. He holds a PhD and BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Dennis started his research career in the semiconductor industry before joining A*STAR. He was also seconded to Rolls Royce to improve fatigue performance of Titanium alloy fan blade and Super Nickel alloy turbine blisk. Dennis is currently working on the development of structural alloys, such as Ni-free Stainless Steel, ODS (Oxide Dispersed Strengthened) Alloys, as well as and other Reduced Activation alloys for fusion applications. To validate these materials, he is also testing the developed alloys in extreme conditions.
