Dr Mark Lim is the CEO of Aliena Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based space technology company developing Hall thruster propulsion systems for satellites. His path into the space sector began in plasma physics, where he received his undergraduate and PhD training at Nanyang Technological University (NTU),
Singapore, before moving from research and teaching into public service and,
eventually, into founding Aliena.

He now serves as Chairman of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (Singapore Chapter), continuing to connect fundamental plasma science with its industrial, energy, and space applications, alongside his role leading Aliena's growth and commercial strategy.
