Dr Valerian Hall-Chen is Principal Investigator and Head of Plasma Physics & Diagnostics at the Future Energy Acceleration and Translation Centre, A*STAR. A*STAR is a national laboratory in Singapore, focused on practical research and commercial outcomes. Valerian is also an adjunct assistant professor at School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University. His team's research directions include microwave diagnostics, plasma exhaust, and heating and current drive. In particular, the team is focused on developing products for the fusion supply chain. Valerian holds a BA in Natural Sciences (Physics) from the University of Cambridge and a DPhil in Theoretical Physics from the University of Oxford.
