As co-founder and CEO of Focused Energy, Inc., he leads the world's top laser fusion company, which is working to make clean, safe, and nearly unlimited energy from laser fusion a reality. Focused Energy is the only fusion company whose laser fusion approach has delivered a proven net energy gain to date - a milestone that impressively validates the underlying physics.

Following the significant breakthrough in laser fusion research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2022, Thomas Forner brought key members of the research team to Focused Energy, forming the world's leading team of laser fusion scientists and engineers on both sides of the Atlantic. Under his leadership, the company is working to commercialize the immense potential of laser fusion.

In the US, Focused Energy was selected by the US Department of Energy (DOE) to further develop laser fusion technology, while in Germany, the Ministry of Research, among others, supports fusion technology and positions it as a central pillar of future energy strategies. Fusion technology is also part of the coalition agreement of the new federal government in Germany.

Before co-founding Focused Energy, Thomas Forner spent nearly fifteen years in the technology start-up scene.
