Dr. Uwe Bau is Chief Executive Officer of Gauss Fusion, a European fusion company focused on the systems engineering and industrialisation of stellarator fusion power plants. Uwe is leading the advancement of the company’s industrial programme to deliver a first-of-a-kind fusion power plant based on its GIGA™ platform. This includes the development of the critical fusioneering technologies needed to support future commercial fusion power plants. Uwe holds an engineering doctorate with a background in thermodynamics and previously researched advanced energy systems at Forschungszentrum Jülich. He later worked at McKinsey & Company across energy, digitalisation and business development, before taking senior industrial and strategic responsibilities at RI Research Instruments.
