Professor Gavin Morley leads a research group in the Warwick University Physics Department, building quantum science and technology with nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond. Gavin was in Oxford for his undergraduate physics degree and his PhD, before working as a postdoc at the National High Magnetic Field Lab in Florida. He then moved back to the UK to hold fellowships from the Royal Society and the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851. He is currently spinning out a company called Abracadiamond which will build diamond sensors for the fusion power, space and medical sectors.
