Nicolas Burkardt is CFO of Marvel Fusion. Originally from Germany, he holds a background in engineering and earned a Ph.D. in economics, specializing in game theory. Nicolas brings over a decade of experience in fundraising for startups, with a focus on deep-tech sectors such as quantum computing, eVTOLs, synthetic fuels, and drug development.
Before joining Marvel Fusion in 2022, Nicolas was instrumental in the success of Volocopter between 2019 and 2022. He supported the growth of the financial team to over 25 members, led the SPAC process reaching audited U.S. listing readiness, and played a key role in increasing the company’s valuation from €200 million to well above €1.5 billion. During this period, he also secured more than €600 million in private financing and debt.
At Marvel Fusion, Nicolas combines his deep technological understanding with financial expertise to drive the company’s fundraising and financial operations.
