Susana Reyes is the VP for Chamber and Plant Design at Xcimer Energy Corporation, where she brings over 25 years of experience in fusion engineering and project management. Before joining Xcimer, Dr. Reyes was Deputy Director for the MEC-U project at SLAC, and more recently, Deputy Director for the US ITER project at ORNL. Earlier in her career, she spent 15 years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory working on various inertial fusion energy (IFE) plant designs and performing nuclear analyses for the National Ignition Facility (NIF).
Dr. Reyes holds a M.Sci. in Power Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the UNED University, in Spain. Dr. Reyes is the recipient of the 2015 Fusion Power Associates Excellence in Fusion Engineering Award and is also a recent graduate from Stanford’s Project Leadership Institute. She is the current Chair of the Fusion Power Associates (FPA) Board of Directors.
