Alison Christopherson is a laser-driven inertial fusion expert who owns the physics basis at Xcimer Energy for the Fusion Pilot Plant and coordinates collaborations across national labs, academia, and industry. She directs an integrated program spanning capsule and hohlraum design, laser–plasma interactions, chamber requirements, laser system requirements, and target manufacturing. Alison previously worked at LLNL and the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, becoming an expert in implosion hydrodynamics and leading experimental campaigns on NIF and OMEGA. She is an NAS Kavli Fellow and recipient of the APS DPP Marshall Rosenbluth Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award.
