Volker Naulin is a Professor of Fusion Plasma Physics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and a former Head of the Fusion Science Department at EUROfusion (2020–2025), where he coordinated Europe’s core fusion plasma research portfolio. He brings over two decades of experience in magnetically confined fusion, neutron production, and large-scale research infrastructures. Prof. Naulin is co-founder and scientific lead of the DANTE initiative, which targets compact fusion-based neutron sources for industrial materials testing and medical isotope production. He holds a PhD in physics and an MBA, combining deep technical expertise with strategic and commercial insight into fusion-enabled applications.
