Ryan is the Director of Organisational Performance at UKIFS, responsible for leading the business operations, people function, security and communications.

Prior to this, he has been COO at the Inertial Fusion Energy company First Light Fusion, led as Head of Electricity Construction (VP) for National Grid, and as an Offshore Installation Manager on Shell’s flagship oil and gas ‘rig’ in the North Sea and a variety of
interim roles.

His bedrock has been a career in the Royal Navy Submarine Service. His notable military assignments were Captain of the nuclear-powered submarine HMS Turbulent and teaching future submarine captains on the world-renowned Submarine Command Course ‘Perisher’.

He has an MA andan MSc, and is a Fellow of the Society of Leadership Fellows
