Prof. Dr. Hartmut Ruhl is Chief Science Officer at Marvel Fusion, where he leads the company’s science and technology strategy, driving the development of fusion targets, novel laser systems, key fusion power plant components, and the infrastructure for fusion energy systems. Prior to joining Marvel Fusion, he held senior research and academic positions in Europe, Asia, and the United States, including serving as a Senior Scientist at General Atomics and as a Professor at Ruhr University Bochum and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where he currently holds the Chair of Theoretical Physics. His research interests span innovations in laser-based nuclear fusion, numerical modeling, transport physics, quantum fields, and information theory.
