Tony Williams serves as the Executive Sponsor for Fusion Projects at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). With more than 30 years of nuclear industry experience, Tony has consistently delivered operational excellence and driven transformative change across complex organizations. His deep technical expertise, proven ability to lead high-performing teams, and track record of navigating regulatory and safety-critical environments uniquely position him to guide TVA’s efforts in exploring fusion energy.

Tony joined TVA in 2017 as Site Vice President at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, where he successfully led the station out of recovery to industry-leading performance. In 2019, he assumed the role of Site Vice President at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, guiding the organization through significant cultural and operational changes. Under his leadership, Watts Bar built a strong leadership team, improved work environment conditions, and advanced toward TVA’s goal of becoming a top-performing nuclear fleet.

Prior to leading fusion projects, Tony headed a newly launched Outage Services and Supplemental Resources team for TVA’s Nuclear Fleet, leading a new business unit dedicated to optimizing outage execution and resource management across the fleet.

Before joining TVA, Tony held leadership positions at Entergy and Public Service Electric & Gas, including serving as General Manager of Plant Operations at Palisades Power Plant. He was a licensed Senior Reactor Operator at both Salem Nuclear Generating Station and Indian Point Energy Center.

Tony earned his MBA from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.
