Dr Thomas P Davis is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Sigma, an advanced materials fusion technology company based in UK and USA. Oxford Sigma's mission is to develop and deploy advanced materials technologies that meet the critical needs of fusion, nuclear, and defence. The company produces materials, such as radiation shielding and lithium ceramics for tritium breeding, in the fusion markets, and is a contractor in the UK defence market, including programmes supporting hypersonic technologies. Under Thomas' leadership, Oxford Sigma has positioned itself at the intersection of fusion innovation and sovereign defence capability, delivering materials solutions aligned with UK and allied security priorities. He is the Chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler & Pressure Vessel (BPV) Section III Division 4 “Fusion Energy Devices” code which sets the component construction standard framework for fusion power stations around the world. He holds multiple fusion patents and has published fusion scientific papers. He has a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Oxford, is a Visiting Professor at Bangor University and a Visiting Industrial Lecturer at Imperial College London.
