Armin Reinartz is a government affairs and strategy leader with deep expertise in international science policy, geopolitical risk, and emerging technology partnerships. Currently, he heads political partnerships at Proxima Fusion, where he leads the company's engagement with German federal and state governments as well as key industrial partners.

An China Studies and Public Policy Major by training, Armin holds degrees from the University of Duisburg-Essen, and Peking University. Before joining Proxima Fusion in October 2025, he served as Director-General for European and International Cooperation at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF/now BMFTR), where he co-authored Germany's China strategy, acted as sherpa for G7 and G20 ministerials, and led delegations on topics ranging from semiconductors and quantum computing to AI and hydrogen. Prior to his government career, he spent nearly a decade with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Bangkok and Hong Kong, building regional policy programs across Southeast and East Asia.
