SHINE Technologies – founded in 2005 and based in Janesville, Wisconsin – is developing fusion-based technologies through a phased business strategy that applies fusion neutron sources to revenue-generating activities while advancing toward fusion energy. The company uses fusion-driven neutron systems for industrial inspection, radiation effects testing, and production of medical isotopes such as non-carrier-added lutetium-177 and molybdenum-99, with facilities in the United States and plans for operations in the Netherlands.

SHINE’s current operations include industrial neutron imaging and medical isotope production, and it has designed a four-phased approach in which these commercial activities help fund and develop the technologies needed for subsequent phases, including recycling nuclear fuel and, ultimately, fusion power generation.
