Description
Type One Energy Group – founded in 2019 and based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee – is developing stellarator-based fusion systems using high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets, advanced computational design, and modern manufacturing technologies to create a reliable, commercially viable source of clean, firm electricity.
Type One Energy’s Project Infinity is a multi-phase programme aimed at commercialising stellarator fusion energy by the mid-2030s, in collaboration with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
