Prof. Prabhat Ranjan is Co-founder & CEO of ASPL Fusion. He completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley / Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, proposing a helically linked mirror reactor concept, and spent nearly two decades in experimental fusion at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and the Institute for Plasma Research — serving as Project Leader of the ADITYA Tokamak and the SST-1 Operation and Control Group, and bringing both of India's first-generation tokamaks to international performance levels. He later served as Executive Director, TIFAC, and mentored Project Sanlayan. At ASPL Fusion he is building neutron sources for Cancer therapy, medical isotopes, thorium breeding, waste transmutation, and fusion energy. He is also Chairing a Government of India committee to prepare the fusion roadmap for India.
