Prof. Seunghwa Ryu is the Endowed Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST and Director of the KAIST InnoCORE PRISM-AI Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University and brings over two decades of expertise in computational materials science, mechanics, and AI-driven manufacturing. At KAIST, he has led pioneering research on physics-informed machine learning, multi-agent LLM frameworks, and data-driven design methods, advancing next-generation intelligent manufacturing platforms. His earlier work at Stanford and MIT focused on multiscale modeling, fracture mechanics, and constitutive theories, laying the foundation for his cross-disciplinary research. He has also contributed to innovation in industrial AI applications, including digital twins, inverse design, and physics-aware simulation systems, while serving on multiple editorial boards and scientific societies worldwide.
